CURRICULUM VITAE
Dr. Andrea Bracciali was born in
Florence in 1963. He took his degree with honors in Mechanical
Engineering at University of Florence in 1988, discussing the
thesis "Substructure coupling by modal analysis techniques:
development of numerical and experimental procedures" (in
italian). He is a professional engineer since 1988.
He is a currently Professor of Machine
Design at Department of Industrial Engineering of the University
of Florence.
His main fields of activity are machine design, noise and
vibration analysis, railway mechanical engineering. He published more than 90 papers.

Awards
- The paper [1] "Caratterizzazione Dinamica della
Cassa di Manovra di un Deviatoio Ferroviario per Alta
Velocità", XVII Convegno AIAS, Ancona, Italy,
1989, 105-116 was awarded by the AIAS (Associazione Italiana per
lAnalisi delle Sollecitazioni - Italian Association
for Stress Analysis) members with the Premio
Agostino Capocaccia 1989.
- The paper [11] "Continuous
External Train Noise Measurements through an On-board
Device", Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit 208,
1994, 23-31 was awarded by the Institution of
Mechanical Engineers (UK) with the T A
Stewart-Dyer/Frederick Harvey Trevithick Prize 1994.
- The paper [18] "Calibration of an On-Board Noise
Measuring Device by Simultaneous Measurement of Trackside
Noise of Three Different Wheelsets for the ETR500 F.S.
Train", Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit 211,
1997, 41-49 was awarded by the Institution of
Mechanical Engineers (UK) with the William Alexander
Agnew Meritorious Award/Clarence Noel Goodall Award 1997.
- The paper [35] "Un modello per la
rappresentazione della dinamica verticale di un binario
ferroviario alle alte frequenze", Ingegneria
Ferroviaria 3, 1999, 132-142 was awarded by the
Journal as the 4th best paper in 1999.
